This year Barking and Dagenham LINk took part in the citizenship day at All Saints Catholic School & Technology College in Dagenham. During a workshop we engaged with over 90 pupils in year 7.
The workshop consisted of the students telling us how they had experienced health and social care services in the borough. Both positive and negative views were shared. One common issue which was consistent from all three classes was the fact that doctors do not explain things in plain English, medical terminology is used and this making it difficult for young people to understand certain aspects of their health or illness.
Students were also asked to design a poster regarding the LINk which would be easier for the younger generation to read and understand. We do not have enough space to show them all so here is a random selection of them.
